- Fanlistings -
According to Fanlistings.org, a fanlisting is a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject, in this case Sypha. Unlike most web cliques, a person does not need a web site in order to join. Fans from around the world submit their information and are then listed to show their love for the subject.

- Sypha -
From the American manual:

"Spirit" Sypha Belnades
Sypha, the Mystic Warlord of Warakiya, is also a vampire hunter who walks quickly and carries a big stick. Rumors of his death were spread throughout Eastern Europe, but in truth he was captured by "Cyclops", the one-eyed Ultimate Evil. Sypha uses his Warakiya Staff to attack. Other attack favorites of his include flames, frozen crystals and lightning bolts. With these, he can destroy evil enemies before they get close to him. However, his skin is very thin and blisters easily when blasted by grotesque enemy attacks. To score BIG, Sypha must attack before his enemies find him.

Yes, old NES manual texts were pretty cheesy. Anyway, that's mostly true, aside from the gender part though which, from what I understood is either intentional (think Samus Aran from Metroid) or because the Japanese text from which that was translated uses a genderless pronoun. Sypha is a female, anyway. I'm guessing the fanboys who still claim otherwise are yaoi fans considering Sypha got together with Trevor. ^^;

She wears a white cloak (or blue-shaded, actually) but no, she's not some gentle white mage from the Final Fantasy games. Her spells are deadly, especially to the undead. The cloak deal is apparently because she's trying to hide her gender, which would be logical because we're talking about the Middle Ages here. Anyway, she went off to kill Drac like many others, but that darn Cyclops got in the way. Good thing Trevor shows up. According to official info, Sypha and Trevor got married after the game. This is also why Juste Belmont later has magic powers.

Not much is known about Sypha's past. I've seen notes translated from Japanese that had some backstory, and I'll put them up her if I ever find them again.

Oh right, one more thing to add. The Belnades - Velnumdes - Fernandez deal? It's the same surname. The katakana says, "ve ru na n de su" but it's up to the translators how they want to write it. I use Belnades because CV3 manual had that, and Yoko (Sypha's distant future relative) is a Belnades in AoS and DoS. That's supposedly the official name, anyway. Well until Konami decides to contradict themselves again that is...

This is a Sypha fanlisting, obviously. I originally had a one-page shrine for her on my CV3 shrine. I made a fanlisting for Trevor, and later started thinking that I maybe I should make one for my favorite CV3 character, too. So, that's what I did. Most of the stuff that was on the minishrine is now located on the "Extra" page.
